Writer's Stats Inaccurate

October 16th 2009 08:23
Last night (October 12) when I received my writer's stats, I was stunned. I received one email per blog plus a regular email of a combined stats, which normally doesn't happen often. When looking at all the emails. I received 545 readers total and they were all from the same blog. The other 4 received 0 traffic.

When looking at the stats on my orble account page, I see traffic.

Was this just me, a fluke, or are the emails correct?

It's just very odd that of 5 blogs, only one had traffic.

I am still not getting stats from my blog ZedPower.Net. I get emails from all the other blogs I have but not from that one. I used to get ZedPower.Net stats emails and then they stopped.

Recently, after a long absense from posting, I posted about the loss of my pet, several posts in fact, and while the numbers showed I had a big response with readers, the delivered stats showed ZERO for all my blogs.

I've been writing here for two and a half years and this had never happened before, even when not posting!

I wrote to Orble asking what was going on, and did not receive a reply. There was also a big discrepancy between my traffic and the adsense figures. Again no answer from Orble over that issue.

So, go figure?

cheers

My e-mail stats have suddenly shot to zero the past few days too. This is after months of at least 30 hits, and an average of 10 readers per day.

this is totally ridiculous. I am fed up with Orble and the lack of presence in terms of admins etc.. According to orble stats I have taken my blog into the top 200 consistently with hit numbers between 850-1300 daily and unique hits averaging over 200 now. But according to google adsense as well as blogtopsites.com and their counters it seems that the unique is down below 100. What gives here? Can I get some accurate numbers somehow. I'd tend to believe google's numbers more than orble's at this point. I guess I'll just have to move the blog onto wordpress and go from their with another host. I never get any answers from anybody on this site. Very disappointing.

Wordpress is easy to use and gets on Google pretty fast. I have never quite figured out how to use Tumblr. Is blogger the Google blog software? If so, it seems work but I don't know how to figure out if I have any visitors.

Wordpress.com has plenty of stats. Don't know about the .org though.

My stats on Orble are trashed as well.

I've researched this pretty thoroughly.. Wordpress is the clear winner in my eyes.. I've already bought the domain and will be working on setting it up in the next couple of weeks. Then I'll just re-direct my traffic from orble to there. I appreciate orble giving me the opportunity. My site has turned into a pretty solid site numbers wise and I'm ready to take the next step, but to get advertising etc.. down the line ( I have a few small ones already) I have to move it off of Orble. Very disappointed with the customer service level at Orble, I must say.

You know whole thing wouldn't be such a big deal if we could just be able to use Java in our blogs..then I'd b fine..cause at least then i'd know if people are still reading my blogs..cause i really doubt blog stats r coming anytime soon...and if some bloggers have had probs since oct 12th....then..ehh....

Well, my stats have returned as of this morning. If you don't hear from me again in this thread it means they've stayed that way.

Looks like it's my turn to lose the stats. Been noticing that these past couple of days. First my new blog got zilch. Then, it was my older blog. The past two days, they seem to be alternating...

The same is happening to me and I want to know why Orble isn't counting my stats despite high hit counts. This is truly aggravating because my hit counts have been higher than ever yet I still receive O readers on all my stats. I'm glad that I'm not the only one having this problem and I hope it gets fixed very soon.

Although my stats are no longer zero, I am once again not getting any stats from my newest blog, zedpower.net

If you look at the newest blogs there are some obvious ads for call girls and prostitutes in India. Where is quality control when you need it? I understand that things slip through some times but when the title of the "new blog" includes the phone number to a call girls service, that speaks to someone not trying very hard to weed out the riff raff. By the way, didn't Craig's list or some similar web site get in trouble when prostitutes where using their services?

What is it with the train wreck that seems to be going on here?

Michael 2: hey...with zedpower.net site..it was probably on a different Ip.than ur other blogs.
cause with mine..they did 2-3 at a time..but each of the domain blogs had to be done (change the new server & new ip or something) ..it takes time..but it probably a lot of work changing every single domain blog over..Your stats should b back within the week.or sooner..

Both my email stats and my on-page stats are wonky, because it listed readers as zero, and someone MUST have been reading it because I got a comment...

My stats are zero again, th elast two days...

I posted a long and detailed response on this forum a few weeks back, and it was not allowed for publication here? Why not Jon?

WHY ISN'T ANYONE IN ORBLE COMMENTING AND RESPONDING TO THESE VERY VALID QUESTIONS?

One is now left to wonder whether the stats, when they are reported, are actually accurate.......

Oh, looks like I'm not alone. The emails say no visitors, AdSense says someone clicked on an ad yesterday. Ghosts? I don't think so ...

If your stats report 0 it usually means that one of the servers (the one with your blog on it) did not transfer it's stats file on that day.

This could be caused by a number of problems -- usually that server being down at the time the stats files are requested. I'm always working to make the system more reliable -- most of the problems caused by the upgrade to the new servers have been fixed.

Your AdSense stats will not be affected in any way by these problems -- the two systems are not at all related.

Jon.
