What is my blog worth?

See for yourself. You'll be as surprised as I am.
So where are my adsense earnings? Any suggestions?

My blog is worth $54,760.38.

Thanks for the visit, I'm off to the bank to collect my $54,000, the bank will probably keep the rest for bank charges, you know how they are.
katyzzz ( I am me, I think, I seemed to be at the last count, anyway.

I guess at least we're not paying to have a blog as I think someone said that's what normally happens-I don't know as I only know about Orble.
Well, I really thought it was just me earning a pittance. I'm glad you've brought the discussion up, katyzzz.
Thank goodness it's fun, there's lots of great people to talk to, I often learn lots and I enjoy researching my topics and honing my writing

Hmmmm - I guess we all suspect who is actually making the big bucks from all this huh -
Perhaps collectively we should start up our own Blog network - I hear the referral fees from Google (for say a site with 4000-plus members) make for handsome banking.
When you do the sums - even if every Orble writer was averaging 10c a day from click throughs etc (some are making a whole lot more - most of us a whole lot less) then I guess someone out there is making $$$ from having to do not too much.
I guess that's the corporate world though.
Yep - lucky its fun and as Tracy says - you get to 'meet' a lot of great people.

In answer to a few questions:
It's quite expensive to run a large number of high volume servers and employ full time staff. Even at the current rate it will be a long time before Orble makes back everything I've sunk into it. Like most of the bloggers I do it because I enjoy it. This is by far the best job I've ever had
You really should be on Orble first for the enjoyment and writing experience and secondly for the money. Having said that some bloggers are doing quite well.
The key factors to making money blogging are:
Write about topics with a good internet advertising market. Some examples are sport, cars, fashion, gambling etc.
Even with good topics you need to get a large amount of traffic to make money. Typical rates for a blog are around $5.00 per thousand page views but it can be as low as $1 and as high as $40. These rates are going up over time as the internet advertising rates catch up with TV and newspapers.
To get lots of traffic/readers it takes time and persistence. Have a read of this post:
Blog Traffic on Orble
Most bloggers simply give up too soon.
You also need lots of search engine traffic. Not only to attract readers but also because readers who come to your blog from a search engine are about 10 to 20 times more likely to click on an advert.
This post has some information on the search engines. This is another good post on the subject which tells you how to write on topics which will keep attracting SE traffic long after they are published.
If anyone would like individual advice on how to get more readers or to increase their AdSense earnings for their particular blog let me know via a PM. When Orble began I had time to help everyone individually however this is obviously impossible now. I'm happy to provide help to those who request it.

The Purple Challenge
It would probably help if Google always had an ad say for Amazon every time we did say book reviews?
So far I've earned NOTHING such a fabulous amount but I have only had Addsense added for a couple of weeks.
I'm hoping adding links back to prior blogs may help>
I've been scrolling thru all my blogs and stats.
Does anyone know of there is a statistical link between blogs that get lots of visits blogs that are popular and get votes form other orblers and the actual rate of click thrus?

The first thing you need to do is get a domain blog -- which I'd be happy to set up for you. I've contacted you a couple times on this but no reply
Domain blogs attract much more traffic and the ads are usually more targeted.
Once we've got that set up then we can go from there trying to get your revenue up.
That goes for Australian Fashionista as well -- let me know if you want your own domain blog. With a regular Orble blog you will always struggle in regards to revenue.

Just a thought, I am no accountant but I would have thought that another angle would be to use the Orble "payments" to offset your enjoyment. Why not speak to an accountant about claiming a tax deduction in the name of research? That way you could do what you enjoy and the taxman MAY be able to help foot the bill. For example people who write sport blogs may be able to claim Foxtel payments as expenses incurred in earning money from Orble. With my blog Punters' Daily I am investigating claiming memberships to race clubs as a legitimate expense.
It's shifty but may be perfectly legal. Get some advice, you might be surprised exactly what you may be able to do.
