What is relate this post?
March 21st 2007 17:58
Hi again.
Once again might be a stupid question but I cannot believe that no one has asked this yet.
What does it mean relate this post?
Is that if you have a similar posting you can sort of link them up?
Anyone that can clarify this would be great as it doesnt seem to be on the blogging tips page.

Basically what you said - if you write two posts which you think share a common theme you can Relate them and links to each related post will be provided at the bottom of each post. You can only relate posts that you wrote (I think).
This is good for your users, so they can find information on the same subject easily, and also for SEO.

I've noticed this on other posts and am glad you have posted it here.
Can you please tell me how to activate and incorporate this Function on my posts?
thanks

Okay so first of all you need to copy the URL of the first post (A) you want to relate. This will look something like:
http://www.envirowarrior.com/ frilled-shark-sighting/
Then choose the post you want to relate this to (B). Visit the Post page and click the 'Relate This Post' link. You'll be taken to a page with two boxes where you can input URLs. The first box will already be filled with URL for post B, you should paste the URL you copied for post A into the second box. Finally click the Relate Posts button at the bottom of the page.
That should be it. If you have any problems let me know. Remember you can only relate your own posts...
