Varying Format of My Comments On My Own Blog
August 14th 2007 01:54
Jon,
For some reason, my comments which are written in reply to my readers' comments are formatted differently at different times in an apparently random way, which I can't seem to control.
Sometimes, The text begins right beside and to the right of my photo, at the very top of the comment box (when displayed), and other times it starts completely below the level of my photo--though still to the right of it. In either case, when I input the comment, or view it in the text box in the "Create/Modify Comment" screen, it appears exactly the same: right up at the top of the box.)
Here's a link to an example of the first, which is normal and obviously the one I would choose. (Note: This link won't take you directly to the comment, but to the blog post, as will the second one below.)
$2500 Blog Competition: Ashwin Khanna Dot Com.
And here's an example of the second (which is strange and not very aesthetically pleasing). This happens often on my blog. In the example below, the comment was formatted correctly when I first wrote and displayed it, but after modifying it, I noticed that it had changed.
Bibliomania: The Modern Way to Read the Classics.
Is there anything I can do to prevent or correct this problem when it occurs? It must look to my readers as if I'm the one who's inconsistent in the way I write my comments; but I can't figure, for the life of me, what could possibly be causing it!
Thanks!
Jeanne

Thanks for figuring out how to work around it! As usual, you're a lifesaver!

Alas I've had to go back to the old comment formats for technical reasons. I'll try to come up with another work around but for the moment if you don't use italics or bold in your comments then the formatting should come out fine.
Sorry about this. It's such a silly little bug which is causing big problems
Jon.

I'll just hang tight and try to stay away from bold and italics until you get it figured out--though it won't be easy!
Thanks again!
