Unable to Edit Posts

October 22nd 2006 03:30
Although I am logged in, I can't edit the posts once they are created. Please advise...This has been happening a lot on both of my blogs but especially on www.muzikalmafia.com.

Thanks, Voices~

Hi Voices,

When you are logged into your blog does it say "Logout" in the top right-hand corner? Or does it still say "Login"?

Also by cannot edit -- do you mean that the "Modify" link is not present?

Thanks,
Jon.

Yes it says logout and the modify link isn't present. It is this morning but is there something I need to correct if it happens in the future?

Thanks
Voices~

That's very strange. If the Logout link is there the Modify link definitely should be unless the Post was not submitted by you. Let me know if it happens again.

So can you actually make adjustments, fix typos, etc once the post has gone live ...?

Jon, i was asking your good self actually ... i was under the impression that once the post was committed (not previewed) you couldn't make adjustments ...

Yep you certainly can. Just click on the "Modify" link underneath each post. This link will only be there when you are logged in -- ie it says "Logout" in the top right corner -- and you were the author of the post in question.

Hi Jon,

My problem is that sometimes I'm running out the door as I tap out my comments and when I get back I notice typo's, or bad grammar or I've not explained something clearly enough... so I use the [modify] key... my question is this; if a person has their email notification activated, do they get a new line in their email in-tray each time I re-modify a comment, or post...? eek, sometimes I might change it 2 or 3 times...???

Thanks
Lilla...

Hi Lilla, the email notification will only be sent once so no need to worry

Hi Jon,

well partially... when they go to their link, do they get the older version as originally posted or does the system automatically update to the newest updaed version...

Thanks again

Lilla...

Hi Lilla,

They will always get the latest version of the comment or post. The old version is over-written by the new one and no record is kept apart from what is in the daily server backup files.

Jon.
