Turning a Blog into a sub category

September 3rd 2007 05:18
Hi Jon,

regarding my last enquiry, and your assistance, unless I am doing something wrong, it seems there is no categories/sub-categories listed on my blog INFOGNITO.

Mountain Views is still separate as are all the other blogs. I may have confused you, not sure, but I want to have them all under INFOGNITO, incorporated in the titles I listed on my last post to you.

Would you be kind enough to check it out and let me know if there is something I should have done for them to appear as we discussed?

Thanks mate, sorry about this, I'm just not too 'pooter' literate!

cheers

fog

Hi Fog,

The categories are all there. If you click on "New Post" for infognito.net you will be able to see them towards the bottom of the page.

The categories will not actually appear on your blog until there is a post in them.

I can move all the posts from your other blogs to Infognito however you will then have to modify your old posts to put them in the appropriate category -- a bit of a pain but it should not take too long. Unfortunately there is no automatic way of doing this at the moment -- this is the first time I've had this particular request

Cheers,
Jon.

cheers Jon,

I will check it out now and to "modify" my old posts to put them in the new category, is that simply done? As in, I click on the modify button on each post, then assign them to another title....but usually they are only general titles on Orble...not sure what to do there..but I will check it out nowa nd if I have probs I'll come back! (sorry about that!! hehe)

cheers

That all you have to do. I've not moved them yet though so you won't have much luck

Could you list the blogs you want moved just to make sure -- once they are moved I can't undo the change.

Hi Jon,

please move all my blogs into INFOGNITO, then I can go from there....hopefully!!

This would be easiest rather than trying to make lists etc, I can then delete blog titles as I move the contents into the new headings, like Lyrical Mist, which I have already listed as a sub-category of Infognito, for my poems.

To move them, once you have put the blog under Infognito, I can just reassign its designation in the "modify' section?

Also, will moving them all under the Infognito blog remove the votes/points I have amassed? As once there, I will delete the old blogs...

cheers

OK, I've moved all of your posts. They will keep their comments and votes. Let me know if you have any problems modifying them.

Cheers,
Jon.
