Question on copyrights
March 5th 2009 01:48
Is there a definition of where Orble blog posts stand in terms of copyright? I'm asking because I recently posted a three-part discussion which had a really good response. I was thinking that maybe I could turn it into a nice, informative article - but I don't know who'd own/share the copyright!
Is it something I can re-publish elsewhere ad lib? Re-publish with an introduction that explains where it comes from and that it was on Orble? Or not re-publish at all?
Any guidance would be nice. There was nothing in the FAQ, so I'm guessing this doesn't happen very often or I'm just massively naive...

On that note Spike 2, I have republished material on here that I have written elsewhere before I brought it over to Orble. As far as I'm concerned, I wrote it, I own it.

in general if you wish to quote from comments people have left on your post its usually just a courtesy/ettiquet thing to drop them a quick message asking for permission
i dont think you have to legally if you are duplicating their words for the purposes of critique or satire, but i think a quick message can sometimes prevent conflict

I found the TOC under 'About Orble'. You can view them HERE
I don't think you'd have any problems though Spike. If you ask to retain your copyright, they will oblige.
