Pic Uploader Not Working

September 3rd 2008 01:32
Hiya Anyone and Everyone

When posting an article I cannot get the pic uploader to work.

I just click and click and nothing happens at all. I can see heaps of others posting and they have images so am trying to work out what could be causing it. I recently updated Firefox to the latest version but Java works on other webpages - I even have Orble in my "allow pop ups" list.

Am going nuts - can anyone help??? Please???

Thanks
Jason

It's obviously worked in the past for you. Are you using a different browser?

Same browser - but updated Firefox this week so am assuming it's something to do with the update BUT Java windows work for my online banking and I have the latest Java.

Not much I can do without sitting down in front of your computer.

Have you got IE? Can you try that?

I do have IE but when I use that it opens download window and freezes on downloader. I managed to get one pic to load but no more.

Seems odd that it would allow one pic to load. Usually these things are all or nothing. Do you have access to any other computers?

Unfortunately not - I will keep trying different things.
I have written 3 articles and left them in word until can get it fixed. It's driving me bonkers.

You have my sympathy -- it can be really frustrating.

You could also have a look at your firewall, or firefoxes security settings, to see if that makes a difference.

Thanks heaps for your help and suggestions Jon - found the solution on the Firefox Forums. It was not FF that was causing the issue - it was the virus program I use - AVG. Apparently last update added a program called "Safe Search" to FF - once this is disabled it works fine. I believe this is a bug that the AVG people are now working on. So if anyone else comes across this issue and uses Frirefox and AVG - then here is your solution.
Happy Blogging Peoples - the JK is BACK. Hehe
