My Advice
August 25th 2006 00:49
Hi Everyone,
Someone asked for a quick summary of my advice for successful blogging on Orble. I thought I would post the answer here as well:
===============================
My advice would be:
Read the blogging tips blog
http://www.orble.com/blogging-tips/
especially the part about the search engines. Most successful blogs get a lot of search engine traffic so that's important.
Comment on other peoples blogs and they will usually return the favour. It will help with your Karma as well. Blogs with lots of comments are much more interesting.
Write about stuff you enjoy. If you are interested in what you are writing about other people usually pick up on it and get carried along.
Blog regularly. This is important to keep your regular readers coming back as well as keeping the search engines happy.
Be patient. It takes at least 2 months before you will start getting decent traffic. It takes time to establish a rapport with your readers and search engines don't refer much traffic to very young websites.
Use pictures in your posts! Try to make your blog look nice by playing with the blog settings and submit a professional looking title image.
Cheers,
Jon.
