Wishlist

Dear Santa,

Two things on my Christmas wishlist for Orble functionality are:

(1) the ability to do searches across all blogs from the main page (preferably full text, or else title text); and

(2) the ability to do full text searches within a blog.

I know you've probably already thought about these. I know they probably involve ridiculous amounts of work. And I know there's probably a stack of other things that are higher priority.

But, yeah. I've been a fairly good boy this year, Santa. So if you could see your way clear to making Orble searchable, there's a tray of milk and cookies with your name on it.

Well, Santa, my wish list is very simple for Orble...

That there will be either a "Health" and/or "Lifestyle" in the Orble Channel because "Others" is getting too big to coup the blog posts. ^_^

I don't have a tray of cookies and milk, but it will definitely a Christmas Card sent to you (postal / email / PM, whichever) when it is completed. ^_^

Yeah, I'd love to have some css to add some dynamic shizaz to my blog, or atleast the ability to use html tags. Don't get me wrong what I have access to is ample but what can I say? I'm a tech freak

As for programming *sigh* I'd do it but I'm still first year, and my course isn't exactly inline with web programming.

Jessica -- good idea regarding Lifestyle and Health. Though I would like to keep the number of categories to 10 so the home page does not become too confusing. Which categories do you think we should combine to make room? The most obvious is probably News and Politics although the Politics category is also well used.

We will also introduce subcategories soon and that should help.

I think the oen that is least used should be expanded or merged.

However we are only delaying the inevitable, unless of course there is a plan to cap the number of bloggers alowed on orble...

No plans to cap the number of bloggers. I was hoping to keep the number of top level categories to 10 and to introduce sub-categories when we had enough posts every day to justify it.

What is everyone's opinion on the number of top level categories? We could easily increase the number to 15, 20, or even 50, but at some point I think having too many becomes confusing.

I like the lack of categories, I suppose the next logical step is as you said create sub categories. It would be somewhat redundant under the 'other' category though wouldn't it?

The idea would be that any sub-category that did not work as a sub-category under one of the top level categories would be placed under "Other".
