Lightbox Thumbnail Popups

I noticed that images now have popups, but coz these open up in a new window, it often looks quite ugly. I was wondering, there are quite a few javascripts that do this in a very nice and professional way (like Lightbox), however this requires code to be placed in the header of the pages, which we as blog posters can't do. I was wondering if Jon or Jay would be interested in implementing these ideas?

The pictures just open up in a new tab for me, which works fine...

However, Lightbox is pretty shexshy!
