Inserting Spl Chars in Web Forms

I'm wondering if anyone knows how you insert Special Chars and symbols into web Forms?
I know the Unicode of the chars I want to add?
Can I type them straight into the web form for Orble blogs and other web forms?
Do I need to change or add anthing brackets or quote makrs or whatever?
Or should I just type up the special Chars / symbols in Open Office or Note Pad and then copy and cut and paste inot the web form ?
Ideas thoughts Suggestions techniques?
I'ld like to be able to add the kanji or kana or greek char next time I quote poetry thats not English in a blog?
