Why do my comments on other Bloggers' Posts throw the text off the page?
July 10th 2007 03:35
I've written to Orble about similar issues before.
Usually the text is only thrown off the page because someone puts a 100% text sized image in the comments section of the post, or doesn't include breaks in their SPAM-style text within the comments section of the post.
Yet it seems that nearly every comment I post throws the text off the Bloggers' page.
Jon? What is going on?

And by the way. Didn't you warn Ahmed about the sort of comment he posted above?
You certainly made it clear I wasn't allowed to post slanderous, litigious comments like that or else I would lose my Blog.
Do these rules apply across the board to all Orblers? Or just to me?

David -- I think the example you gave is simply the formatting of that blog. The author has removed the buffering around the text when setting up their theme. It's got nothing to do with your comments.
Ahmed -- could you please remove your comment regarding David's ego.

Okay, that explains why it's happening on some Blog Posts and not others.
I was wondering whether or not you could alter the picture posting dimensions to exclude 100% in the comments posting section? As in, when someone goes to include a picture in the comments section, they only get one choice: 50%?
As for Ahmed? ...

I'm not sure, first time I noticed it but apparently there is no 'upload image' in the comments section here. I'm not sure if this is the case with other blogs.
As for the ego thing, just a joke, but since I'm the sort of person who is all 'it isn't funny if it's hurtful' and have yet to take the hypocrites oath I suppose I'll have to take it offline. Took me so long to find the picture too
Stupid principles and people who lack a sense of humor.

If you could modify your "ego" comment that would be great thanks.
David - I altered the comment image upload code so that even at 100% width the images can not be wider than the comment section. If you have an example of where this is not the case (though not like above where Ahmed has just used html <img> tags) then let me know so I can try to figure out what is happening.
Thanks,
Jon.
