Actually Blogging is a means in which to "provide commentary or news on a particular subject such as food, politics, or local news; some function as more personal online diaries".

I hate to say it (ok I lie, I love to say it) but Blogging isn't usualy about the blogger unless it's an online diary of sorts. The most successful blogs on the internet tend to be rather objective and to the point in a range of matters, the most opinionated yet high-traffic blogs I've seen tend to revolve around politics (or those sorts of things).

Ahmed ...

Yeah ... to define 'Blogging' per-se is tough ...

I put this post up more for the benefit of newbies ...

Your comment and the comments that follow will probably help them all ...

I do not for one moment think my opinion of Blogging is definitive at all ...

Blogging is just a strange world when you first enter it ... I've just seen a few posts by newbies who are a bit 'puzzled' ... so I thought I'd just say what I think Blogging is about from my perspective ...

I'm as IT ignorant as the most IT ignorant ... As long as the PC works and I can type on it? I'm happy ..

You IT savvy guys? ... I have a different brain to you guys ... I just go numb thinking about what's behind the PC ... If anything goes wrong with mine? I just ring my IT savvy mate and go 'Help!'

I'm just a writer who likes PCs but doesn't want to learn anything about how they work ... I'd rather just write and leave all that to the experts ...

I have to admit that I had always been allergic to the Livejournal drama-ridden bawl-my-eyes-out geek-chic image surrounding blogs.

Only recently did I begin blogging when it occurred to me that I needn't have a Xanga dedicated to ex-girlfriends, but instead could further my professional career.

A matter of semantics: isn't 'blog' a derivation of 'weblog' -- and wouldn't that imply some sort of objectivity in recordkeeping?

The blog-cum-diary is only cool if you're Doogie Howser -- and that was private, wasn't it? Wasn't he on like an Atari 800XL or something?

Anyway. Orble has taught me a lot about what I thought was once just an annoying tech buzzword. Thanks for that!

Wendiful ...

One of the things that astounds me most in the Blogging world is:

How so many Bloggers think Blogging is more than it is ...

I enjoy Blogging. It's text based mainly. It's also image-based, but essentially, it's text based. Even Orble's monica or logo is 'Read Write' ... It's not 'Read Write Download Images to get votes or gain popularity' ... (Maybe they should change it? Read, Write, Paint'?

The modern world has lost the ability to communicate; interact with other human beings in a two-way way ...

There's far too much one-way communication in the modern world. Bloggers (in the main) are more intent on convincing other people what they have to say is important rather than learning that listening to someone and engagain in two-way communication is more important ...

I mean, I care and I don't care. I care that people dont' have the ability to engage in a two way conversation ... because I think that's sad ... but if they're so belligerent they dont 'get' it ... then I don't care ... and I'll just use blogging to communicate with people who know how to communicate and know what logic and reason is ... and tell the others to get fucked (only because it's the only language they understand) ...

I mean, how many times to you have to tell people that communication is a two-way street? ...

It's all too much ... Blogging is simple ... Just write about what you're passionate about ... what you're interested in ... and make a few virtual friends ... Don't use a Blogsite to upset people and make enemies when you're biggest enemy is yourself ... Why not take out your angst on yourself? Doesn't that make more sense?

Oh, shit, I forgot. I'm referring to people without sense ...

Yeah ... I agree ...

What I like most about you? You're a person interested in learning ... (but also putting what you learn into practice ...

Eg ... your Blog has changed ... We all now get to see or read the real you .... You being yourself ... (without feeling you have to be a 'Blogger' ... You're too busy blogging about what interests you to care about what other Bloggers think about your Blogging ... [to me that's what Blogging is about ...

That's pretty much it ...

Oh, apart from this ... For all of the shit I write? I'm much more interested in people just being themselves ... I think it's one of my best qualities ... (wishing the best upon another person with no envy no jealousy ... just seeing the real them come out ... [I should have been a teacher ... I get as much joy out of other people's accomplishments as I do out of my own ...

I don't think you have to write a 'bawl-your-eyes-out' Blog if you're not a 'bawl-your-eyes-out' person ...

I just think people should be true to themselves and true to others ...

I mean, you can Blog ...

It's nice of you to comment on this one ... but you don't need any advice on Blogging ...

Hip-Hop Girl ...

If I ever get another feature film 'up' as they say in the industry (as in produced)? ...

They always have a wrap party ... (not a rap party) ...

Do you want me to put a clause in the contract that the wrap party turns into a Hip-Hop Party with you as the cheerleader? ...

I'm quite happy to do that. At least I'll get to see you dance. (Even if it's not with me ... *

SAVE THE WORLD!

Anyway, about "blogging..." I'm currently enrolled in a media subject in uni, and they absolutely adore the concept of blogs. They analyse blogs from every perspective. There's a semi-blog sort of search engine you guys might be interested in, if you haven't already heard of it:

http://technorati.com/

It gives you the option of only searching blogs when doing net searches.
