Help--Can't upload a picture!

December 15th 2008 04:03
Hi there,

I'm new to Orble and excited to start my new horror blog. I suppose I should preface this by saying that I am using Safari on a Mac in case that has any bearing on the situation. The posting features seem to be working fine- EXCEPT that I can't get a picture to upload.

I click on the photo tool, and upload a photo from my desktop. The photo upload window 'blinks' and resets to blank, as if it has loaded the picture but when I return to the blog post, there is no picture there- no code to indicate a picture, nothing. I have tried this multiple times with different photos, after refreshing, etc. I also tried simply dragging the photos over and dropping them in the box, and of course that was silly and achieved nothing.

I don't know code, the photos are JPEG... so that's about the story. I put up my first post without photos, but I'm at a standstill as of now- what I'm working on won't be worth much without them.

Thanks in advance for your time- I am really not a computer literate person, just a writer- so I am hoping that there is an obvious answer that I happen to be ignorant of.

Best,
Dayna

Hi Dayna,

It may be compatibility problems. I recently switched to Chrome, and can't upload pics with it, getting something like you describe with Safari. When I use Internet Explorer, no problems. So I suggest you stash a copy of IE in a quiet corner of your hard drive until Orble/Safari/Chrome learn to talk fully to each other.

Regards,
Chris

I get the same issues with safari and now with IE7

However Firefox works fine.
This looks like a compatibility issue with the server at the orble end.
