Emo's, google images and lots of traffic I'm not sure I actually want
February 22nd 2007 07:07
I'm having one of those really cool periods where google is getting me lots of hits from some article I wrote (for all the wrong reasons of course).
Today I clocked in 105 hits from images.google.com. Now normally thats fine and dandy *except*
yikes
and the image in question? quadruple yikes! (is that guy on guy or girl on guy? I can't figure it out)
Now I don't think I've uploaded that photograph anywhere, I have no idea where it's coming from and why google keeps sending people to techy bytes through it. It's just scary... really very scary.
I think this is the post thats attracting all this wierdo attention: Really Long Link
So umm, what exactly is going on?

If you're getting hits from images.google.com with an image that isn't on that post then it probably is related in a way. *sigh* So annoying, damn emo's )

Looks like you have linked to this picture in the first paragraph of text:
I don't know what you can do about it other than remove the link. I guess very few of the people looking at this picture will be clicking on the Ads anyway so probably won't hurt too much? But your Google Adsense report should be able to tell you more...

Weird, I did find that photograph somewhat familiar too.
Thanks

I thought exactly the same as you till now but I guess it makes sense. Google will have associated the image with various keywords (emo, girl, guy) via the text in the link you provided.
You're getting some good traffic from it though

So long as the post doesn't turn into a emo link exchange I'll leave it, I might nab a couple of emo adsense clickers, you never know
