Rancid-Ruby Soho and comment editing

Jon,

Rancid is the group that produced Ruby Soho, my post is about the lyrics and how it translates for me, with 94 votes, why is it off of the most popular list? Rancid - Ruby Soho Here's a link to verify what I am saying.

This post isn't about Orble or one of its writers, it is a critic of the lyrics to a song. You told Ruby her posts were removed, for clogging up the most popular list with posts about Orble and for perhaps mentioning other writers-I am not clear on that point.

Further, this post is about assumptions; things aren't always about what they appear to be.

Secondly, why can't blog comments be modified on the my profile page any longer?

The post is off the popular lists because it's aimed at another writer.

With regards to comments do you mean your comments or other peoples? Nothing has changed with regards to comment editing.

Jon,

The tools for editing my comments after I've posted them are no longer available to me. When commenting I may not catch an error until after the fact and now I can not modify them. And, I was able to do so until just recently.

BTW, I agree with your reasoning, was just making sure a likely loophole was plugged.

Try deleting your cookies and then login to your blog again. Let me know if that helps.

Jon,

I cleared all of my cookies, closed my browsers (Firefox and IE) and logged back in to Orble, I still don't have the tools on my profile to edit comments I leave elsewhere.

Through my blogs I can edit or delete comments on blogs I author.

Although I was logged in to Orble, and my orble, I have to log in to my profile seperately and that is a new development.

Odd, but if that's a new arrangement, then I'll live with it.

The login system has not changed. We just had to delete some old info in the database which means that you need to login again to many of the Orble domains. Once you've logged in once you should not have to do it again, unless you logout.

Aw comeon--you know, some of these flame wars have livened things up a bit. Nice thing about Orble is nobody gets nearly as nasty and below-the-belt as I've seen on some other sites...well, almost nobody. That's what I love about Orble.

I'll bet traffic jumps when there's a war on.
