can't stop certain ads

April 23rd 2007 04:21
i keep getting these 'hurricane bush/clinton' ads on my blog. i have tried to enter them into the filter on my adsense account but they still keep coming up. as much as i'm sure it is an important service, i just don't want it on my site. is there another way around this, or do we have to put up with it because it is a community announcement?

I don't think there is any way to stop these, they are deemed to be public service announcements and (so far as I know) are unblockable...

Jon, the PSA ads come up when Google is unable to determine what ads might be suitable for your blog.

So, two things: they'll disappear if you keep posting and Google is able to determine what your blog is about.

And, it's a sign that you should be more descriptive with your post titles, probably. Try making titles that are accurately describing your post.

The only way is to disable public service announcements. This is done through adsense, on google.

I got rid of ads once too. I didn't think Anorexics needed to be offered weight loss services.

yeah it does suck, I lost a good $10 once because of the god damn public service ads. Oh well.

ahmed,

did you change your adsense preferences to 'implement an alternate ad' and it still happened?

umm, no, it was 'public service', it still is public service, I don't have an 'alternate ad' option for some reason :-\

Oh well, don't really mind...
