Anon Comments

Hey guys
Im sure this is somewhere in the rules but since Ive never seen it I thought Id ask.
Can Anon people modify and delete their comments? I got a new comment today on a rather old post so I went back to it. This post should have had a brief convo between me and an Anon commenter except it was gone, about 4 comments worth of back and forth. All there was was the newest Anon comment (who was a nasty bugger) and Im just wondering, could it be the same Anon 'changing their mind' and putting up something different? Even so there should still have been my comments sitting there not making any sense because the things I was replying to had gone.(does that make sense?)
Of course, I may have made a mistake but Im sure this is the post where I had a chat with an Anon.....So Im just a little confused as to where it went. Im going to have a look but back to the question at hand -
