Who Chooses the Advertising on my Blog?
July 31st 2007 23:59
Can someone please explain to me why, despite using keywords and main textual information about Disability Services, a Weekend at Hervey Bay, Wheelchair Dancing and Having fun, I constantly get a complete row of nonsence advertising across my screen for Wiccan Magic Spells, Wiccan Magic, Pagan Rites and Rituals and such like nonsence - which has nothing to do with the contents of my post?
I've noticed that although I never write about Rugby, my posts are frequently headed up with advertising for this sport, also.
Who matches the advertising to my post subject matter and is it something I am doing?
Thanks.

Google uses a range of factors in determining which ads to display on a site including keywords on the page, which ads have been clicked on (or not clicked on) before (by others and that particular reader) and which country you are in.
If you are not seeing environment ads on your site it may be because you have never clicked on any and google thinks you are not interested in them.

thanks... perhaps I didn't explain it very well, but I wasn't talking about my Enviro W site, (which is always very well matched) ...but more about my associated orble sites, as they also generate revenue, no?
In this case I was particularly talking about my poetry/journal site "An Extre Ordinary Life* - the ads are often totally non-related and bizarre - as in this case, stated?

If the same page is displayed enough times google will crawl it and the ad targeting should get better.
The only way to ensure really good ad targeting is to move your regular blog to a domain blog. You'll get more traffic that way as well.
