Adding Widgets and Stuff to the Columns

I've seen a few blogs with URLs that have added widgets and clickables on the columns of the page. How is this possible, and how can we do this?

Although, I'm not sure what I would add, I'd like to know if I'm able and how in case I found something that I wanted to put there.

hi Whitney,
i havent done it myself but i believe you insert the code for a widget into a post called a "Blogroll" and it becomes displayed in the column down the side

Thanks Morgan, for knocking that out. I've seen Orblers with widgets in the sidebar, so it's definitely possible... check out the posts that Morgan linked...

it is a rather difficult site for new users to navigate . . . other blogging sites have alot of these things automated, yet on Orble we are still going through multi-step manual processes to modify the look and organisation of our blogs

So I finally got around to trying it out, and the widgets added to the side, without problems, but why did it create a post? Is there any way so that the post isn't a real post, just a column on the blog?

Hi ,
I was actually trying to find something related to widgets in blogs but this the only post I found.
I am also thinking of adding some widgets to my blog but it is unclear which widgets are allowed. Does any one know whether we can add another revnue widget or not? I want to add widget bucks to my blog, can any one tell me if it is ok?
